I was humbled by this brick. It accidentialy ended up in a flow through tank where I was doing some experiments testing for substrates with oyster larvae and spat. By far, the brick attracted the most settlement. Was it because it was on the bottom of the tank or did the spat just love it the most? The brick made me realize that sometimes what you think is your biggest “mistake” in science turns out to be the solution.
